Convert a WEBP to PNG

Opens the images web pages hand you and writes a PNG, alpha and all.

, or drop one here

How to use it

Drop the WEBP on the page and the card above the canvas writes a PNG. Transparent regions stay transparent, the pixels are stored losslessly, and the new size appears before you click download. The browser does the decoding and encoding; the file is never sent anywhere.

  1. Click Choose a WEBP, or drop the file on the page. A picture saved from a web page opens here even when other software refuses the .webp extension.
  2. Look at the card: PNG is preselected and the line shows the old and new size with the pixel dimensions, for example 73 KB → 1.5 MB · PNG · 1152 × 896.
  3. Click Download PNG. Two or more files chosen together come back as one zip.
How do I convert a WEBP image to PNG so I can open it in other programs?
Open it here and click Download PNG; the result is a standard 8-bit RGBA PNG that Windows Photos, Preview, Word and older editors all accept. The conversion runs in your browser, so the file never leaves your computer, and there is no daily limit or watermark. A single picture over 100 megapixels opens scaled down to that size, and a note says so.
Does the transparent background survive?
Yes. WEBP and PNG both carry an alpha channel, so a sticker or logo with a see-through backdrop stays that way; the checkerboard on the canvas is only the editor showing you where the transparency is. Only JPG would flatten it to white.
What about an animated WEBP?
Only the first frame is converted, because PNG has no animation. If you need every frame as a layer, open an animated GIF instead: a GIF with more than one frame opens with one layer per frame and a timeline.
