Convert a WebP to GIF

Turn a saved sticker into a GIF that keeps every frame, in seconds.

How to use it

Stickers you save from a chat app or a web page often come as .webp, and plenty of places still only take GIF. Open the file here: an animated WebP comes in frame by frame, each frame a layer with its own timing, and the result card shows the frame count and the GIF size before you download. A still WebP becomes a one-frame GIF.

  1. Click Choose a WebP, or drop the file on the page. For the sample sticker the card reads Animated GIF, 12 frames.
  2. Check the size line: the 61 KB sample comes out at 285 KB · GIF · 512 × 512. Type 240 in Width and press Enter for a 77 KB GIF, or pick fewer colors.
  3. Click Download GIF. To delete a frame or change its timing first, use the Timeline panel; the card writes the GIF again.
Why is the GIF so much bigger than the WebP?
WebP compresses far harder than GIF, which stores up to 256 colors a frame, so expect the GIF to be several times larger: the 61 KB sample sticker becomes 285 KB. A smaller Width brings it down fastest.
What happened to the soft shadow?
GIF transparency is all or nothing for each pixel. Pixels that are mostly see-through, like a soft shadow, become clear and the rest become solid, so edges turn hard. The sample's shadow disappears for that reason.
Does the timing stay the same?
Each frame keeps its own delay, and the loop setting comes from the file. A frame set to 10 ms or less is read as 0.1 s, and GIF rounds every delay to hundredths of a second.
What are the limits?
One file at a time, and all frames must fit in your device's memory. Up to 256 colors a frame, dithered. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
