Choose a PNG and Photopip saves it as a JPG at quality 92, usually a third to a fifth of the size for a photo. The card above the canvas shows the original and new size before you download; where the PNG was transparent, the JPG gets white.
- Click Choose a PNG, or drop the file anywhere on the page. Select several PNGs in the dialog to convert them together.
- Check the card above the canvas: JPG is already selected and the line under it reads, for example, 1.5 MB → 188 KB · JPG · 1152 × 896.
- Click Download JPG. The file keeps its name with a .jpg extension; with several files the button reads Download ZIP.
- How do I convert PNG to JPG without losing quality?
- Some loss is built into JPG, but at quality 92, the setting this card uses, it is not visible on photos or screenshots at normal viewing size. Hard-edged text and flat colour are where JPG shows artefacts first, so a logo or a UI screenshot is better left as PNG. A PNG stores every pixel exactly, which is why a 12-megapixel photo saved as PNG can reach 20 MB while the JPG is 3–4 MB.
- What happens to the transparent background?
- JPG has no alpha channel, so every transparent pixel is filled with white before encoding. For another colour behind the image, click More options… and change the Matte colour in Export As, or add a filled layer underneath in the Layers panel first.
- Can I convert many PNG files to JPG at once?
- Yes. Pick two or more PNGs in the file dialog and the card switches to batch mode; one click on Download ZIP gives a zip with every file converted at the same quality 92. Everything runs in your browser, so the limit is your computer’s memory, not a per-day count, and there is no sign-up or watermark.
