Convert an SVG to PNG

The SVG opens as pixels at its own size; set the size you want, then save a PNG.

, or drop one here

How to use it

Open the SVG and it is rasterised at the width and height written in the file; the card above the canvas then saves a PNG with a transparent background. Need more pixels? Choose Image > Image Size before saving. Text is drawn with the fonts installed on your computer.

  1. Click Choose an SVG, or drop the file on the page. The canvas shows the drawing at the size declared in the file, which is 512 × 512 or less for most icons.
  2. Click Download PNG in the card for that size. The dimensions line tells you what you are getting, for example 1 KB → 154 KB · PNG · 512 × 512.
  3. Need a different size? Choose Image > Image Size, enter the width (the height follows while the chain icon is locked), click OK, then choose File > Export As and save as PNG.
How do I convert an SVG to a PNG at 2x or a specific size?
Open the SVG, choose Image > Image Size and type the width you need, then File > Export As with PNG selected. The drawing was turned into pixels when it opened, so doubling looks fine but a 10× enlargement goes soft; for a very large PNG, edit the width and height attributes in the SVG first and open it again.
What in an SVG will not convert?
Your browser’s own SVG engine draws the file, so gradients, filters, masks and clip paths come through. Fonts and images referenced from another address do not load (embedded data: images do), scripts never run, and a file with no width, height or viewBox gets a default size. Fonts not installed on your computer fall back to a system font, so convert text-heavy SVGs on the machine that has the font. Batch conversion is for PNG, JPG and WEBP sources; open SVGs one at a time.
Is the SVG uploaded anywhere?
No. The browser reads the file and draws it to a canvas on your computer, and the PNG is encoded there too. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how many files you convert. If you want the shapes editable rather than flattened, create a new document and choose File > Place: a simple SVG made of rectangles, circles, ellipses, lines and regular polygons comes in as shape layers.
