Checks each screenshot against Google Play's three rules and pads or crops it to 9:16 as 24-bit PNG; up to 8 at a time.
Free, in your browser, nothing uploaded. Google Play takes JPEG or 24-bit PNG screenshots, 320–3840 px a side, the long side no more than twice the short. A 1080 × 2400 capture is 2.22:1, so the card pads it to 9:16.
| Item | Google Play (checked 29 Oct 2026) | What the card does |
|---|---|---|
| Format | JPEG or 24-bit PNG, no alpha | 24-bit PNG with no alpha channel; transparent corners are filled from the edge color |
| Size | Each side 320–3840 px | Scales down anything over 3840; under 320 is flagged with Enlarge 2× |
| Shape | Long side no more than twice the short side | Flags it; Pad to 9:16 or Crop to 9:16 |
| Count | Up to 8 per device type; at least 2 across device types to publish | Takes the first 8 you choose |
| Feature graphic | 1024 × 500, JPEG or 24-bit PNG, no alpha | Feature graphic chip: crops to 1024 × 500 |
| Tested 29 Oct 2026 | The sample: a 1080 × 2400 phone capture, 2.22:1 | Pad to 9:16 gave 1350 × 2400, a 24-bit PNG (no alpha channel) of 628 KB, in about 0.3 s on a laptop |
Only phone screenshots and the feature graphic are made here. Tablets and Chromebooks take 1,080–7,680 px screenshots at 16:9 or 9:16, and Wear OS, Android TV and cars have rules of their own. Padding adds plain bars in the edge color, which can look odd next to a busy screen; check the preview. Crop to 9:16 takes the same amount off the top and bottom, so a status bar or tab bar may be cut. Enlarge 2× upscales the picture with AI (on your device instead if AI is unavailable); it can't add detail the screenshot never had. Play Console has the final say when you upload.
