Convert a PDF to 300 dpi JPGs

Save every page of a PDF as a sharp picture at 300 dpi, in seconds.

How to use it

A print shop wants a page of your PDF as a sharp picture, or you need one for a slide. Choose the PDF: Import PDF opens with 300 ppi (dpi) selected and shows each page's pixel size before you confirm. Every page opens as an image, and the card downloads one JPG, or all pages as a zip, each with 300 ppi in its header.

  1. Click Choose a PDF, or drop it on the page. Import PDF shows the first page, the page count and the page size in inches.
  2. 300 ppi is already selected, and the line under it gives the pixel size: for the sample flyer, 2480 × 3508 pixels per page. Keep All or type a range, then click OK. For a logo you will save as PNG, tick Transparent background here; a PNG does not carry the 300 ppi value.
  3. Each page opens as a document. In the card JPG is selected: click Download JPG for one page, or Download ZIP when the PDF has several.
ItemDetails
OpensOne PDF at a time, without a password
SavesJPG at quality 92 with 300 ppi in the header; PNG or WEBP optional, without the ppi value; several pages as a zip
Limit100 million pixels a page (about 16.7 million on iPhone and iPad); a larger page is rendered at the largest size that fits
Where it runsIn your browser; the PDF isn't uploaded

300 ppi renders more pixels; it does not add detail a scanned PDF never had, so a 150 ppi scan comes out bigger and just as soft. Text and vector shapes become pixels: nothing is selectable, and zooming past 100% blurs. A page over the pixel limit is imported at a lower resolution, and the import message names the page.

How many pixels is 300 dpi?
The page width and height in inches, times 300. The dialog does the sum before you confirm: the sample flyer is 8.27 × 11.69 in, so 2480 × 3508 pixels.
Will the JPG say 300 dpi in its properties?
Yes. The JPG header carries the resolution the page was imported at, so a print shop's software reads 300 ppi and the matching print size.
Why did one page come out below 300 ppi?
It went over the pixel limit (100 million; about 16.7 million on iPhone and iPad) and was rendered at the largest size that fits. The message after import names the page.
JPG or PNG for 300 dpi?
PNG keeps the edges of text, logos and diagrams exact and can have a transparent background, but a photo page is several times larger as PNG, and a PNG does not carry the 300 ppi value. Tell the print shop the resolution if you send a PNG.
Can I do a long PDF on my phone?
Each page at 300 ppi is held as a full image while you work. On a phone, choose Range in Import PDF and convert a few pages at a time.
